Who am I today? My name is Jung Mi (Teo), and I am from South Korea. I came to Australia with my family in 2016 and we’ve been enjoying living here in Australia despite the countless challenges. I have a beautiful boy and girl plus a pygmy bearded dragon named Cookie. I love to be organised and keep things tidy and clean. I keep my word and stay positive and strong.

What fills my cup of love and joy? RUNNING!!! I love running. Running is my ‘me time’ when I fully focus on myself without any worries, concerns, or anything like that. I can run with pure freedom. Another reason why I love running is, running drives me to be more positive so I can create my bright future and become a better person. If I go for run with my children, that is double joy!! Filling my cup is also listening to my favourite singer’s music or running (it would be double the joy if I am running with my singer’s song) or buying some beautiful clothing for myself.  However, the time I spend with my clients supporting them the best I can to make them happy even for just a moment makes my cup overflow.

One superpower I embody: My superpower is INFINITE ENERGY, so I never ever get tired to my jobs I love to do. I love spending time with my children and working for my clients and customers. Fatigue and exhaustion often used to stop me from doing what I want to do or reaching my goals. (One of the reasons why I run is to boost my energy.) With my INFINITE ENERGY, I generate positive vibes to share with others. I believe positivity can change everything and bring us to wherever you want to be. I use my superpower for myself to dream big, day by day and work hard towards achieving my dreams.

Why I chose to work in the disability sector: My father-in-law used to be a very healthy person even though he had a few health issues, he managed well. However, after his health condition went downhill very quickly, he ended up requiring a wheelchair. Our whole family went through not only physical but also emotional changes and challenges through this period. Luckily, we had a lot of support from family, friends and community which made us laugh, staying positive and stronger, loving each other and motivated keep moving forward. Like this support, I want to be a bright smile for my clients who need support, assistance, and guidance.  I want to be available when my clients need me to guide them to feeling safe and secure in their lives.
